Well, after a day in koln seeing the cathedral and to the kids joy, the lindt chocolate museum we've got to prague !
Koln was a nice city, crystal clear rhine beside our campsite and our first exercise in driving big bertha around tight spots in a campsite..managed to avoid flattening any germans whilst reverse parking her into a spot under the watchful eyes of the campsite nosey bugger who came out to make sure we were within the regulations...jems 'bottom attack' (commonly known as a moony) saw him shuffle back home in his flip flops:-)
After spending the day roaming koln with the thought of coming back to a gutted campervan at the park and ride where we'd left it i was pleasantly surprised to find it untouched on our return ! We got the kids into their pjs and drove half way'ish to prague, stopping off the motorway far too late at night.. Both knackered but time for a quick beer and a watch of some very odd lights dancing in the sky! Spooky :-)
Today, we stopped at neunberg for the afternoon..wierd place..large town..no people..biggest shoeshop in the universe and a big cathederal/castle/monestary/music school that was void of people and looking suspiciously like it was built specifically so they hold a festival each year to get some people to visit (bit like Llans eistedfodd i guess, but more sausage)..anyway we'd either missed it or it hadn't happened yet cus the place was dead..
Having stocked up on supplies we headed to prague (getting overtaken by a skoda 130 en-route and in fact so much faster than bertha that we didnt get chance to take a photo before it had sped out of view) and set our destination in tomtom only to find the whole of the center of pragues road nework was being re-wired.fun fun !
Arrived at a sleepy site which is basically someones back garden and promptly woke it up to the sounds of our 3 kids ! One screaming, having covered the interior of most of the van with brown stuff and the other two way too excited by the peace and tranquility of the site. Another expert example of reversing with no help from mrs cook who was in her usual helping position directly in the vans blindspot competing with a screaming baby and two mischievous kids shouting their own advice...i just listened to the man with the dog who was just pointing and saying nothing..
Anyway, still itching from the rabid midges on night 1, filling up with diesel every other day, its wet wet wet and im glad their not dead as well cus im sick of michael jackson on the radio, the van's losing water somewhere so the drinking water tank needs filling every day (makes a difference to my usuall problem with the vesel letting water in, and no Mark i didnt fiddle with the sonar transponder), we've cracked open the camping samuka and we're begining to realise how big europe really is ! (im like that [crossed fingers] with the millions of truckers on the E50 now with them all giving me a friendly flash as i take up the only spare lane...speeding past them at 70.05 mph)
Should spend 2 days here now and relax a bit in prague with the kids before heading north and hacking the germans off again :-)
